Tuesday I had my second eye surgery. Cataracts are gone; vision is perfect. It still amazes me how much I didn’t see before. It’s a very different world. Even my paintings look different, more texture, brighter colors.
The surgery itself went extremely well, almost fun. The doctor commented on how still I was during the procedure. I told him I enjoyed watching all the pretty colors. I don’t know why that happens, but it seems to be part of the process, the flashing colors.
For a couple of days I was pleasantly sedated. I’m not much on drink or drugs, but this has been nice. Keeps me from doing too much. I’m beginning to get restless, even though I know it is not a good idea to be too active. I’m generally an alternative medicine person, yet it is brilliant what can be done these days with conventional medicine. I am very grateful.
