The weekend was altogether good. My studio was as clean as I could manage, clean enough to allow people to get into it and see the art without getting wet paint on their clothes. I had a decent number of visitors, all enthusiastic and enjoyable.
The weather was another story. Rain. One group of people on Sunday were admiring my lake before going into the house. It hadn’t started raining yet. I mentioned my canoe was now sinking into the lake. It was barely visible. So two of the group took off their shoes and socks, waded into the water, and bailed out the boat. I was so grateful! As soon as they were finished, the heavy rains began.
Last night the wind was so intense, one of the ropes tying the canoe to the dock broke and the boat was flapping around on the water. I secured it this morning. It’s time to get the whole show out of the water: the boats and the dock. Summer is definitely over.
