At the Jo Beale Gallery

This past Sunday, July 4, I had an exhibit opening at the Jo Beale Gallery in Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia.  I have nothing scheduled now until March.  It’s been intense with so many shows in such close time, and I’m glad to be able to work now with less pressure.

Ever since my exhibit in Memphis last March, my paintings have been changing and evolving.  Often I found myself saying I don’t know what I am doing.  It seems the paintings know more than I do.  That’s a good thing!  It’s been interesting.

When Jo took the work for this exhibit, I was not completely convinced it was okay.  I hadn’t given myself enough time to digest what was happening with the paintings.  Fortunately everything seems to look so much better out of my studio.

The space in her gallery is small but she did a brilliant job of hanging the work.  I was impressed.
